A conventional concrete screed is the simplest type of floor covering. A cheap and little practical option that quickly begins to crumble under the influence of moisture, sand, pebbles, fuel and engine oil.   • protects the cement screed from cracks and dust;
  • does not slip underfoot – if desired, you can set the desired degree of roughness;
  • a wide range of colors, the ability to decorate, markup, apply reflective stripes;
  • elasticity – withstands shocks, small vibrations;
  • hardness – high wear resistance, does not wear off, suitable not only for pedestrians, but also for transport;
  • not afraid of temperature changes – suitable for unheated rooms;
  • biological resistance – mold and mildew do not appear even at high humidity;

How to make a epoxy garage floor?

Installation is carried out in two stages – preparation of the base and pouring.

Preparation

The epoxy mixture is only suitable for concrete slabs and screeds, because do not have elasticity suitable for movable types of floors. If instead of floors in the garage there is ordinary soil, it is necessary to perform a reinforced concrete screed:

tamp the earth;
fill up a pillow of sand and soil;
lay moisture-proof sheets with an overlap on the walls and on top of each other;
install a reinforcing mesh on the supports;
pour concrete mixture – so that the mesh is in the middle of the layer;
dry for a week;
grind.
The screed device and filling are performed at positive temperatures. After sanding, the cement dust is removed from the surface and covered with a soil intended for concrete.

Fill

Epoxy floor – two-component, consists of two materials – dry strengthening powder and liquid. They need to be mixed – optimally with a construction mixer that will help break up the lumps. Mixing speed is average. High rpm will cause air bubbles to form and the temperature of the mixture will rise.

It takes no more than half an hour to fill the entire area – this is the hardening time of the composition. Therefore, the procedure is best done with two or three people.

Since the load on the floors in the garage is greater than in the living room, the pouring must be performed in several layers:

  • First, underlying. It is applied on a dried primer with a thickness of 1-2 mm. “Epoxy” is evenly spread over the surface with wide spatulas.
  • A decorative layer of thrips or a hardening layer of quartz sand is applied to the wet mix.
  • After six hours, excess quartz that has not adhered to the polymer is removed with a vacuum cleaner.
  • The main layer is applied – its thickness depends on the degree of roughness that the sand creates.
  • Processing with a needle roller to remove air.
  • Finish with transparent varnish. Performed after six hours.

Where can you order epoxy flooring?

The primer and polymer are applied using paint rollers on long rods. On a wet surface, you can only move with paint shoes. The surface is ready for use in three days – this time must be waited until it is completely dry and cured.
